Simon Kirwan Liverpool Photographer: Architecture – Aerial – Event – Editorial – Time Lapse Video
Simon Kirwan, based in Liverpool, north-west England, has over 25 years experience working as a commercial photographer, with clients located in UK, Europe and USA. Equally at home in corporate offices, construction site, light aircraft, mountain summit, live music concert, conference centre, trade show, exhibition venue, or sport stadium, Simon Kirwan is a photographer specialising in lifestyle marketing, live event, architectural, aerial, and landscape photography for corporate, advertising and marketing clients. He has been the official in-house photographer for ACC Liverpool, operators of BT Convention Centre & Echo Arena Liverpool, since the venue opened in 2008.
In 2000, Simon was named the Observer Outdoor Photographer of the Year, and as well as photographing live events like the Liverpool Summer Pops for ACC Liverpool, operators of Echo Arena Liverpool and BT Convention Centre Liverpool, is the author of a series of landscape and aerial photography books, and also produces corporate and event photography for a diverse range of clients all over Europe.
Simon Kirwan utilises a full digital workflow, including real-time capture, upload and transmission of images from live events. High-resolution images are wirelessly transmitted from camera to laptop, then automatically uploaded to a web site for download. This system was successfully utilised in Paris in June 2009 for the Hertel Management Conference in Paris, when over 2700 images were captured and uploaded over a four-day event.
Simon Kirwan’s aerial photography is utilised by architects, construction companies, local authorities, urban regeneration projects, and property developers. We use on-camera GPS for geo-tagging of aerial photographs, which precisely locates the position of the aircraft when the picture was taken.
Aerial photography covers the whole of England and Wales from our bases at City Airport Manchester, Carlisle Airport, and Mid Wales Airport at Welshpool. Simon Kirwan has published a series of landscape and aerial photography books, and has travelled widely in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. He is a member of the Association of Photographers, and the National Union of Journalists.
